What is the difference between softwood and hardwood garden sleepers?

Softwood garden sleepers are manufactured from trees that grow rapidly and therefore have a less dense wood, such as pine. It is pressure-treated to provide long-lasting protection against damp and rot. Since hardwood garden sleepers are made from slower growing trees, primarily oak, the timber is naturally strong and resistant to the elements without requiring any treatment.

How do weed control membranes work?

Breathable weed control fabrics such as Weedtex allows nutrients (including liquid feed and fertilisers), water and air into the soil. This maintains its goodness and promotes plant growth but prevents weeds getting the daylight they need to grow.
